NEW YORK — Indiana Pacers All-Star Tyrese Haliburton is determined to elevate his performance in Game 2 after a lackluster start in the second-round series against the New York Knicks.
In the opening game, Haliburton had a modest impact, attempting only six shots, scoring six points, and providing eight assists, fewer than his season average. The Pacers fell to the Knicks 121-117 after relinquishing a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter.
Haliburton admitted to being too focused on playmaking rather than taking shots when opportunities arose. Despite his struggles, he remains optimistic about his performance in the upcoming game.
However, Haliburton is currently listed as questionable due to back spasms, a recurring issue for him since high school. Coach Rick Carlisle expressed confidence in his ability to play but acknowledged concerns about his reduced aggression possibly stemming from the injury.
Facing criticism and pressure as a star player in the postseason is a new challenge for Haliburton, who is experiencing his first playoff run in a breakout season.
