Gautam Gambhir’s 5 conditions to become India head coach:
One of Gambhir’s conditions is to have complete control over the cricket operations of Team India.
Additionally, Gambhir has requested autonomy in selecting his support staff, which currently consists of Vikram Rathour as batting coach, Paras Mhambrey as bowling coach, and T Dilip as fielding coach.
Another noteworthy condition is Gambhir’s desire to potentially remove four senior Indian players – Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Shami – if they underperform in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.
He also seeks a dedicated team for Test cricket and aims to start strategizing for the 2027 ODI World Cup right from the outset.
‘I don’t see that far ahead’: Gautam Gambhir on India head coach role
Recently, Gambhir was asked about his thoughts on potentially becoming the India head coach. The former Indian cricketer responded by stating that it’s challenging to predict the future at this point in time.
He remarked, “I don’t see that far ahead. You are grilling me, asking me all tough questions. It is difficult to answer right now. All I can say right now is that I am happy being here. Just finished a brilliant journey with Kolkata Knight Riders let’s enjoy that. I am in a very happy space right now.”
