Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir praised Babar Azam, the limited overs captain, for his humility and strong work ethic when it comes to batting.

Amir highlighted Azam’s commitment to practice, emphasizing that even after everyone else had finished training, Azam would still be honing his skills in the nets.

This dedication has contributed to Azam’s rise as one of the premier batsmen across all formats of cricket and the consistent top scorer for Pakistan in recent years.

“Babar Azam is a very humble guy and always thinks hard about his batting. He loves his batting, even in the nets he’s still there batting when we finish,” said Amir in an interview with Geo Super.

During the 2024 T20 World Cup, Azam led Pakistan and scored 122 runs in four matches with an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66. Meanwhile, Amir claimed seven wickets at an average of 10.28 and an economy rate of 4.50 in the same tournament.

Pakistan faced initial setbacks in the competition with losses against the United States of America and India but managed to bounce back with victories over Canada and Ireland.

Despite these wins, Pakistan was unable to progress beyond the group stage.
