4th of July Activities for Families: Participate in the Newport Peninsula Bike Parade and Community Festival. The bike parade will begin at 9 a.m. at 36th Street Park and continue down Balboa Blvd. to Channel Place Park, where a free festival awaits with carnival games, arts & crafts, and food. Decorate your bikes, scooters, wagons, and strollers, and bring your leashed dogs along. Mariners Bike Parade: Join the Mariners community for a parade along Mariners Drive starting at 10:30 a.m.

Old Glory Boat Parade: Sponsored by the American Legion Yacht Club and American Legion Post 291, the annual Old Glory Boat Parade will take place in Newport Harbor starting at 1 p.m. For details, call 949-673-5002 or visit www.alyc.com.

Fourth of July Coastal Flyover: The Condor Squadron Officers’ and Airmen’s Association will conduct a flyover with AT-6s over Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, and San Clemente on July 4. The flyover will commence over Huntington Beach and reach Newport Beach in the late afternoon, courtesy of the City of San Clemente.

Fireworks Extravaganza: The City is partnering with the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort to host a Fireworks Extravaganza at 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach. The fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m. on July 4, with free public access to the show. Please note that Newport Dunes’ gates will open at 8 a.m. on July 4, and day-of parking is available at $50 on a first-come, first-served basis or $100 for pre-paid reservations.
