After a remarkable 16-year career in the WNBA, Parker recently retired from professional basketball.
In 2010, Parker made history by becoming the first woman to have her own signature basketball shoe line with Adidas, known as the ACE Commander.
Parker expressed her desire to actively participate in decision-making processes rather than being just a figurehead, stating in an interview with Fast Company, “I really want to be in the meetings and I want to be a part of making decisions.”
In her new role as President, Parker will work closely with the brand to establish initiatives that will have a positive impact on the future of women’s sports, as stated by Adidas basketball global GM, Eric Wise. The aim is to focus on enhancing access, increasing representation, and breaking barriers on a global scale, leveraging Parker’s extensive understanding of the game and the requirements of female athletes.
A recipient of two WNBA MVP awards, Parker secured league championships with the Los Angeles Sparks in 2016, the Chicago Sky in 2021, and the Las Vegas Aces in 2023. She spent majority of her career with the Los Angeles Sparks after being drafted as the top pick from Tennessee in 2008.
Parker holds impressive rankings in WNBA history, including third in rebounds (3,467), fifth in blocks (619), seventh in assists (1,634), and ninth in points (6,574). Throughout her career with the Sparks (2008-20), Sky (2021-22), and Aces (2023), she maintained averages of 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks in 410 games (406 starts).
