Benoit “The Rebel” Paire secured a significant victory by defeating Zachary Svajda in the round of 32 at the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport. This win marked his first success on grass in more than five years.

In a characteristic move, Paire chose to FaceTime his mother right after the match.

During the post-match interview, the interviewer was intrigued by this gesture and asked Paire about the call. Paire emotionally shared, “It was my mom. I know she’s watching at home in France and she’s very stressed, so…”

This triumph was only Paire’s second win of the season and first in almost four months on the ATP Tour.

Apart from his mother, Paire also disclosed that his dog, Ravioli, was one of his keen supporters back home.

Following the match, Paire was asked to share a message from one of his tattoos with the crowd. He chose the tattoo of his dog’s name, Ravioli, stating, “It’s the name of my dog. He was watching on TV.”

Paire’s most recent event was at UTS in Oslo, where he secured a victory and finished fourth in Group A.

The upcoming UTS tournament will be held in August, with UTS New York scheduled to take place on the 22nd to 23rd at Forest Hills Stadium.
