Benzino has criticized the Black community for apparently not standing up for Sean “Diddy” Combs amid the increasing allegations against him, which include accusations of sexual assault and physical abuse.

In an episode of The Danza Project on Tuesday (May 21), Benzino, from Boston, shared his thoughts on the ongoing investigation involving the rap mogul, as his properties were raided by Homeland Security earlier this year.

Benzino believes that the intense scrutiny and intrusion into Combs’ private life have been excessive, especially since Combs has not faced any criminal charges related to the current claims made against him. He rhetorically questioned, “Since when have we given the law, the system, one of ours?”

Benzino expressed his frustration that Combs has not been criminally charged despite the law enforcement actions taken against him. He criticized the readiness of some in the Black community to simply hand him over for imprisonment without concrete criminal charges. Benzino questioned this approach, emphasizing the lack of criminal charges against Combs.

It is unclear whether Benzino’s comments on The Danza Project were made before the leaked footage from CNN showing Combs physically assaulting his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016, as this incident was not discussed in the aired episode.

In a disturbing video of the incident, Combs is seen pursuing Ventura through a hotel, physically attacking her, and throwing objects at her.

Following the release of the video, Combs publicly apologized for his behavior, acknowledging it as inexcusable. He took full responsibility for his actions and expressed regret for the incident. Subsequently, several celebrities distanced themselves from him, including LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Yung Miami, who unfollowed him on social media.
