There has been a lot of talk following a report by Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff suggesting that Thatcher Demko might have a chance to play in the Vancouver Canucks’ Pacific Division final series against the Edmonton Oilers, starting Wednesday at Rogers Arena.

Seravalli mentioned the possibility of Demko returning by Game 5 but indicated that it might be a stretch.

Game 5 is set for May 16, just over a week away. According to Seravalli, Game 6 on May 18 and Game 7 on May 20 could be more plausible scenarios for Demko’s return.

In line with a report from Postmedia two weeks ago, there was a slight chance of Demko coming back late in this round, with a more realistic timeframe being the conference final.

Current updates suggest that Demko is still on the path to the conference finals. He has been seen skating on his own during team practices, showing slow progress towards a return.

Although it remains uncertain if Demko will be ready for Game 6 or 7, the possibility is not ruled out. It would be a challenging decision given the short timeframe since his injury, but it aligns with the initial estimate of a four-week recovery.
