Cassie, who gained fame at 19 with her debut single “Me & U,” has evolved over the years.
“It’s been a gradual transformation,” Cassie (real name Casandra Ventura) shared with Billboard in 2017. “Many of my friends have told me that, despite the changes in my life, I remain the same. My heart is still where it has always been.”
In her early spotlight days, Cassie was signed to her on-and-off boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Records label. After their final split in 2018, Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy, accusing him of sexual assault and physical abuse over a decade. The former couple resolved their legal dispute the next day, with Diddy maintaining his innocence.
A video emerged in May 2024 showing Diddy allegedly assaulting Cassie, leading to his subsequent apology.
