CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte man, Benjamin Simmons, is celebrating a massive win of $992,574 from a Fast Play jackpot, as confirmed by the North Carolina Education Lottery. 

Expressing his excitement, Simmons mentioned, “I’ve been a regular at that store, playing this game for quite some time.”

Shortly after scoring big on a $20 Max Win ticket one Friday afternoon, Simmons wasted no time in claiming his substantial cash prize.

Following deductions for state and federal taxes, Simmons happily walked away from the lottery headquarters with $709,696 in hand.

The winning ticket was purchased at Raceway Amoco located on Lyles Lane in Concord.

 “It’s going to be a great moment telling him about my win,” Simmons remarked.

He expressed his intention to utilize the money to assist a family member facing medical challenges.

Simmons’ stroke of luck coincides with the anticipation building up among North Carolina residents for the upcoming draw on Saturday, which could potentially yield a $1.3 billion prize.

Currently, the Fast Play jackpot amount stands at $29,100 as of Saturday morning.
