Patrick Mahomes, quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, declined an opportunity to host “Saturday Night Live” citing his fear of reading from a teleprompter.

While Mahomes is interested in hosting the show in the future, he admitted to being “scarred” from a past experience reading from a teleprompter at the ESPYs. He still feels nervous, even though “SNL” predominantly uses cue cards instead of teleprompters.

Over the years, thirty-five athletes have hosted “SNL,” including notable names like Peyton Manning, Michael Jordan, and Wayne Gretzky.
