NEW YORK (PIX11) – As high pressure moves out into the Atlantic, a front will approach from the west.

Thursday afternoon will be mostly sunny with temperatures exceeding the norm. Expect a high of 85 in the city and ranging from low to mid-80s in the suburbs.

Friday will bring a mix of sun and clouds, heat, and humidity, with afternoon showers and thunderstorms likely. Some storms may be accompanied by strong winds and heavy rainfall. Temperatures will peak at 89 in the city, low-80s along the coasts, and upper-80s to low-90s inland.

Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny and less humid, thanks to high pressure ushering in cooler Canadian air. Anticipate a high of 82 in the city and low-80s in the suburbs.

Sunday will maintain pleasant conditions with mostly sunny skies as high pressure settles over the area. The high will be around 80 in the city and low to mid-80s in the suburbs.

Monday will see a blend of sunshine and clouds with temperatures reaching 83 in the city and ranging from low to mid-80s in the suburbs.

Tuesday is predicted to be sunny and very warm as high pressure shifts offshore into the Atlantic. Look for a high of 90 in the city and mid to upper-80s in the suburbs.

Wednesday will bring partly cloudy skies, heat, and humidity, with temperatures ranging from the upper-80s to low-90s across much of the region.
