It’s summer, which means it’s time for Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ), a speedrunning marathon for charity that started on Sunday and runs until July 6th. Check out this year’s schedule, featuring runs for games like Balatro, Alan Wake 2, Elden Ring, and a mix of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1, 2, 3, and 4 in one run, among others, like Baldur’s Gate 3 Honour Mode and a shipless run of Outer Wilds.
A highlight is a live speedrun featuring Peanut Butter, a shiba inu who wowed viewers with a remote NES game Gyromite run in January at Awesome Games Done Quick. This time at SGDQ, Peanut Butter will be live playing Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball for the Super NES, aiming to win a game in 30 minutes. Catch the run on July 4th at 8:43PM ET.
The event’s first run, Yoshi’s Story, debuted at 1PM ET today. You can watch the entire event on the Games Done Quick Twitch channel, and catch up on runs after they air via its YouTube channel. The event, streaming from Minneapolis, is collecting donations for Doctors Without Borders.
