Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt criticized the national team for displaying a lack of energy during the 2024 T20 World Cup, comparing their performance to as if they had walked to the United States of America.

The team's energy levels were described as "lethargic" and Butt remarked that they appeared like they had been playing cricket for over a century.

Pakistan suffered defeats in their initial two T20 World Cup matches against the United States of America and India, managing to secure wins against Canada and Ireland later on. Despite these victories, they were unable to progress past the group stage.

Salman expressed his disappointment, stating, "It seemed that the Pakistan team came to USA on foot. Body language was very lethargic and there was no energy. It also seemed like we have been playing cricket for 150 years," during an interview with Cricket Baithak’s YouTube channel.
