Catherine, Princess of Wales, will not be able to attend the Colonel’s Review, a military parade in London on June 8, due to ongoing cancer treatment.

The Colonel’s Review serves as a dress rehearsal for the official Trooping the Colour ceremony on June 15, which Kate may also have to miss this year.

It remains uncertain whether Princess Kate, who is the Colonel of the Irish Guards, will be present at the Horse Guards Parade for this year’s event.

There were hopes that Kate would lead the ceremony but Lt. Gen. James Bucknall will represent her instead at the parade.

Lt. Gen. James Bucknall, an experienced military officer, will step in for Kate and oversee the event in her absence.

Last year's parade was the first for King Charles III following his accession to the British throne.

Since December, Princess Kate has been absent from public engagements due to her cancer battle and initiation of chemotherapy in March.

A royal insider informed CNN that Kate will not resume royal duties until she receives medical clearance to do so.

Concerns were raised about King Charles’s presence at the upcoming Trooping the Colour due to his ongoing cancer treatment, but Buckingham Palace has confirmed his attendance.

King Charles will review troops from a carriage this year, adapted from his previous participation on horseback, in consideration of his health condition.

This alteration aligns with the royal household’s commitment to adjust the King’s engagements based on medical advice.

Despite his cancer battle, King Charles has resumed his public duties following his announcement earlier this year.

Trooping the Colour typically culminates with royals appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony to greet well-wishers after the procession.
