Heartbreaking news has struck the rock music community with the sudden passing of CJ Snare, the esteemed vocalist of the band FIREHOUSE, at the age of 64.
The announcement was made by the band FIREHOUSE on their social media platforms:
“Today, the world of Rock N Roll mourns the loss of our dear brother, CJ Snare, the iconic lead vocalist and one of the founding members of FIREHOUSE.
On Friday night, April 5, 2024, CJ Snare passed away unexpectedly at his home, leaving us at the young age of 64.
His return to the stage alongside the band had been eagerly anticipated this summer following his recovery from surgery.
The untimely loss of CJ has left us all in shock.
CJ was undeniably a vocal powerhouse and had been touring tirelessly with Firehouse for the past 34 years, captivating audiences around the globe.
Our deepest sympathies and prayers are extended to the Snare family, his partner Katherine Little, friends, and our loyal fans worldwide.
“Reach for the Sky” CJ! Your memory will forever live on in the hearts of your family, friends, fans, and bandmates. You now sing among the angels.”
His girlfriend, Katherine Little, also shared her heartfelt words:
“With immense sorrow, I announce the passing of my beloved CJ on Friday, April 5th. I have cherished over 8 wonderful years with this extraordinary man, and my love for him knows no bounds.
In September 2020, CJ was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer, and despite the grim prognosis, his unwavering spirit prevailed. A second opinion in September 2021 led to a life-saving surgery, granting us more precious time with him. His positivity throughout his illness was truly inspiring.
He exhibited unparalleled strength and never wavered in hope. His sole desire was to embody the CJ known and adored by all. Last spring, he faced additional health setbacks, culminating in another surgery in October 2023 that left him frail and unable to lead a full life. I stood by his side from day one, unwavering in my support.
CJ leaves behind three remarkable children, who hold a special place in my heart. The void he leaves is immeasurable. I am not prepared for this reality. Words fail me in this time of profound grief. I urge respect for our privacy as we navigate this period of mourning.”
